Paper first packaging
European brands are under pressure to reduce unnecessary plastic, simplify packaging materials, and make recycling easier for end customers. Paper based carton sealing is one practical change because it replaces a visible plastic component with a paper tape that visually belongs with the corrugated box.
Operational reality
Sustainability claims only work when the packaging still performs in real shipping conditions. Buyers should test tape on their actual carton board, storage humidity, shipment weight, and warehouse process. A sustainable material that fails in transit is not sustainable in practice.
Where WAT fits
Water activated tape is a good fit when a company wants paper led packaging, stronger tamper evidence, and better brand presentation. It can support ecommerce, retail refill programs, cosmetics, gifts, and subscription packaging without forcing a complete carton redesign.
